Driver facing DUI charge, other allegations

Tennessee police recently arrested a woman for allegedly driving under the influence. In addition to her DUI charges, she is also facing at least one count for theft of over $1,000. Since this is not her first drunk driving-related criminal charge, the potential consequences could be especially severe.

Criminal defense: Journalist arrested for filming mall incident

A Tennessee journalist was recently arrested for documenting what he described as an act of racial bias at a shopping mall. He is facing a misdemeanor citation for the incident. A local police deputy allegedly claimed that he was breaking the mall's rules by filming an incident concerning two young men wearing hooded sweatshirts. The mall later released a statement that it does not permit its customers to wear clothing that can conceal their identities. It is unclear if the journalist has begun criminal defense preparations.

Criminal law: Arrest made in Aug. 2018 robbery

A months-old robbery incident led to the recent arrest of a Tennessee man. Charged with several criminal law violations, including aggravated robbery, he is currently in police custody in lieu of a $150,300 bond. Police believe that another man was also involved in the incident, although that individual has not yet been identified.

Felony charge filed against former Vols quarterback

Police recently arrested a former Volunteers quarterback on some fairly serious criminal allegations. Sterling Henton is accused of passing a counterfeit check, which led to a charge for criminal situation of between $60,000 and $250,000 -- a felony charge. However, he claims that he was actually the victim of an internet scam. 

Video spawns arrest of Tennessee woman, criminal defense next

It seems like everyone has a camera at hand these days, in the era of smartphones. While phone cameras can capture events, they are poor at showing the full context of a situation. A recent viral video shows a Tennessee woman driving her car away with a salon employee clinging to the back of it. She has been charged with reckless endangerment, and is likely now focused on preparing her criminal defense.
